Miray is a fifth-year Ph.D. candidate in Educational Psychology: Applied Developmental Science in the School of Education and Human Development at the University of Virginia. Currently, Miray is a Southern Regional Education Board (SREB) dissertation fellow and a former Virginia Education Science Training (VEST) pre-doctoral fellow. Her research focuses on the identity development, socialization, and schooling experiences of Black girls and women. Her dissertation research specifically focuses on the experiences of Black women student athletes.

Miray is currently on the job market, and applying for positions in Education, Psychology, Human Development and Family Studies, and other related fields.
