Meron Samuel is a fourth-year undergraduate student majoring in Psychology and minoring in Health and Wellbeing on a Pre-Physician Assistant track at the University of Virginia. Her research interests look into the inequalities and pressures that Black youth experience within education and healthcare. Explicitly, how these factors play a role in their identity development. In addition to working with the FHIRE Lab, she is the Vice President of the Ethiopian Eritrean Student Association, a Peer Advisor of the Office of African-American Affairs, and currently studying to be an EMT. A few of her interests outside of academics are cooking, music, basketball, and puzzles.
