Lamont Bryant (they/them) is a third-year doctoral student in the Community Psychology program at the University of Virginia (UVA). Inspired by Black feminist and queer theory, Lamont seeks to understand the psychosocial informed protective practices against gendered racism. Specifically, their research examines Black women and gender/sexual minorities ' formation and utility of social support, both in-person and online. Lamont is a first-generation student and Dean fellow. Before attending UVA, they managed community-informed prevention outreach programs at the University of Maryland School of Medicine to empower and support the wellbeing of LGBTQIA+ adolescents and young adults.
