Janelle Billingsley (she/her/hers) is a sixth-year doctoral candidate in the Community Psychology program at the University of Virginia (UVA). She received her B.A. in Psychology from North Carolina Central University in 2016 and a M.A. in Psychology from UVA in 2019. Her overarching research interests concern the promotion of healthy adolescent development among marginalized youth. Specifically, her research examines supportive intergenerational familial relationships as a pre-existing strength in the lives of African American youth.
