Diane-Jo Bart-Plange (she/her/hers) is a sixth-year doctoral student in the Social Psychology program at the University of Virginia. She received her B.A. in African and African American Studies and Psychology from Washington University in St. Louis in 2015 and her M.A. in Psychology from the University of Virginia in 2019. Diane-Jo’s research interests are centered around racism and discrimination at the institutional and interpersonal level. She researches how primarily white-controlled institutions, policies, cultural standards, and people, consciously and not, maintain white supremacy. Diane-Jo also researches colorism, specifically the cognitive mechanisms behind and downstream consequences of gendered colorism.
