Ariana Rivens (she/her/hers) is a fourth-year doctoral candidate in the Clinical Psychology program at the University of Virginia. Originally from Conway, SC, she received her BA in psychology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2018. She received her MA in Psychology from the University of Virginia in 2020. Her clinical and research interests include the multifaceted experiences of Black youth and emerging adults, supportive intergenerational relationships, processes of risk and resilience related to mental health, and positive institutional climates within higher education. When she is not conducting research or doing clinical work, Ariana enjoys trying new foods, reading books, and spending time with her black cat Lizzy.
